Life Experience in the Present Society

There is a way life goes through us, leaving indelible marks, trails and conspicuous golden leftovers of timelines in events to be cherished either transiently or lifelong. These can either be pleasant or unpleasant; subject to individual attitudinal orientation and belief. Our quests to explore life and its fantasies are quite unique and interesting. While some gutsy folks readily throw caution to the wind, grab the bull by the horn and live life to the fullest with less stress, over-cautiousness might be the biggest undoing of others, swiftly restricting their experience bandwidth. Whether timid or gutsy, irrespective of your race and background, the same pedestal exists for everyone to experience life uniquely.  Personality and temperaments also play a key role in determining our choice of adventures and nature of experience we get from them. While outgoing, extroverts Sanguines are readily making most of their time count, the phlegmatic introvert might need to temporarily grap

The True Freedom Experience

Freedom is costly, expensive and extremely demanding on the part of its seeker. I used to believe that it is one of those blank cheques that life offers, now it is more apparent that nothing is free and indeed, nothing goes for nothing. It is a rule of nature that we must give something in exchange for what we desire, do not have, or aspire to become. In our quest for freedom, it is important that we clearly define our goals, targets or aspirations. Stating our goals clearly from the start keeps us in the right loop and mental frameworks towards achieving them. How do we describe freedom? There are many perspectives, dimensions and views to freedom. It ranges from the rapidly evolving naive mind of a child that is devoid of worries to adolescents and middle-class office workers drowning in negative social vices downtown.    My perspective on true freedom is that of being fulfilled and accomplished. Being fulfilled in any area of interest is the real freedom. In our secular society

EKITI POLITICS; THESE CURRENT TRENDS

Politics in Ekiti since the electoral meltdown of 1983 has indeed carved a niche for itself in the local and international political landscape. Ekiti is a land that prides itself in its intellectual potentials and dispositions making it a force to reckon with especially in education and other spheres of human endeavour; however, the major Achilles’ heel is the seldom over appraisal of intellectual endowments which as a matter of fact influence decisions that can result in rancorous situations. One major trait of a typical Ekiti indigene is being down to earth. The latter may be affected by social class, educational status and the level of exposure. The current trends in Ekiti is what can be described as the one in which our strength now becomes a major weakness due to the fact that we have gradually replaced our core values with sentiment and frivolity; excessive sentimental attachment to educational qualifications is in no doubt a force to contend with among Ekiti elites. The

Attitude of Successful Aramoko Men and Women towards Youth Unemployment

The topic of this piece would have been better reconstructed as attitude of Aramoko men and women towards Human Capital Development or youth unemployment. To know that there is a little problem with the topic , what is success? And who is a successful man or woman? Success is doing the ordinary things in an extraordinary way and the ability to sustain the aura ( Ilesanmi D.A 2009). Besides success without a successor, they say is no success then the question is: who are the successful Aramoko Men and Women? The answer may not be provided here. I will leave my readers to think about the answer themselves. This is not a pride; but for a right thinking person, the answer is known already. Man could be rich but unsuccessful; but he may be successful without being rich. For the former, the topic under discussion is apt and timely.   Strictly speaking, as an economist, the demography of Aramoko-Ekiti coupled with dangerous politics of indifference played   against youth unemployment

THE IMPACTS OF SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY ON NATIONAL,YOUTH DEVELOPMENT.

The bedrock of development to be factual is education. Education is what we can describe as springboard to development in any nation. It is therefore worthy of note that proper education policies in all its ramifications will serve as a breeding ground for a reliable technological development. Rapid economic growth cannot be achieved without proper science technology. Technology has been in existence more than science. It deals with invention and basically a technical method of studying science. It recognizes only those things that can be said or seen with naked eyes. Emergence of science and technology results information technology, engineering, etc Technology is an agent of transformation with science as that bedrock of technological advancements, youth should rise up to the occasion in order to make the vicious cycle better. This will result in numerous existences of transformation agencies, which will contribute positively to the national development. Government should ensure th

The exigencies of workable constitution

It is a popular saying that a land without governing law must have no records of misconducts. It will be grossly impossible in the same vein to live amicably in a land that has no functional documented governing laws (constitution) for its citizens. It is in lieu of this that the current move by the government to rectify the ugly loophole in its system through constitutional review is an indication of sincere patriotism, to all intents and purposes to move the nation forward. Vital to consider are the catalogue controversies, inconsistencies that are evident in the 1999 constitution. The 1999 constitution, a modified form of the colonial era, to be candid require a total contemporary scrutiny. It is therefore a welcome idea that everything is set to put it all right by the present administration. Nevertheless, the major problem we have in this country is not mainly centered on the constitution or its inadequacies. Constitution of course must be workable; the fact is that we Nigerians n

Feeding program in Ekiti-state: A Paradigm of Village-Urban exposure!

The feeding program of the federal government in partnership with various states in Nigeria to feed the students in the first six years of compulsory education at least twice a week has been a welcome idea. The idea in all specifications will assist the students in assimilating more quickly in their studies. This program has really made several resounding impacts especially in a state like Ekiti where there is still increased level of poverty. Since the feeding program was introduced several years back, some states like Osun had implemented it then without any iota of bitterness affiliated to political machinations. In October 2008, the feeding program was introduced to Ekiti state primary and secondary school as directed by federal government, though very belated it seemed, at least the much awaited program has finally begun. According to Ekiti state schedule, each child is entitled to an egg and a cup of tea (sachet sugary cocoa powder). Catalogue of observations revealed that since
